AC Milan star Franck Kessie hands Liverpool transfer blow with 'forever' statement

Reported Liverpool transfer target Franck Kessie has issued a strong update on his future.

The Reds continue to be linked with a host of midfielders, with each of them being tipped to be a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum.

Kessie joins the likes of Florian Neuhaus, Saul Niguez, Renato Sanches, Youri Tielemans and Houssem Aouar in being a midfielder linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

Kessie’s current contract is due to expire next summer, and there were suggestions that Milan could cash in to avoid losing the player as a free agent.

However, in a recent interview Kessie has outlined his intentions to remain at Milan “forever”, seemingly ending hopes that Liverpool may have had on signing him.

Kessie namechecks technical director and club legend Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara as key people behind his desire to remain at the club.

"I am proud to have chosen Milan and it is not my intention to leave,” Kessie told Milan News .

“On the contrary, I want to stay forever. Now the Games, but when I come back from the Olympics I fix everything.

“I just want Milan, Maldini and Massara, they know my thinking.

“I like it so much when the ultras sing 'a President, there is only one President’.

“Well, I want to be one for life. At least football.”
