'Absolutely brilliant' - West Brom fans joyful amid reports ex-Palace coach is set to rejoin

Former Crystal Palace coach Steven Reid is reportedly set to return to his old club West Bromwich Albion to join James Shan’s backroom staff.

According to reports, the former West Brom player will rejoin the Baggies to work as an assistant coach, adding experience to the coaching team, after the Championship club confirmed Shan as head coach for the rest of the season.

Reid worked at Palace last season alongside Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington as first team coach, but left the club for personal reasons prior to the start of the current season.

He has since worked briefly at AFC Wimbledon, but now Birmingham Live are reporting that Reid is now set to link up with the Baggies again, having spent four years with the club as a player.

And the potential move has gone down well with plenty of Baggies fans, with the Championship club set for a place in the end-of-season play-offs as they bid to try and return to the Premier League at the first attempt, following relegation from the top flight last season.

Here’s how some Baggies fans have been reacting to the news of Reid’s possible return to the club on social media.
