'Absolute scenes' as shoppers descend on Nottingham supermarkets for Christmas supplies

It's Christmas Eve Eve - and things are getting pretty hectic in the supermarket aisles as shoppers get in their provisions for the festive period.

There are tales of long queues at the tills and for car parks - along with people arguing about Ferrero Rocher.

But it's not all bad - especially if you got to the shops early enough.

We've had a look at what people in the Nottingham area have been saying about their supermarket experiences so far today.

And it's not pretty.

Some decided to give up and go home to watch a film instead.

Meanwhile this shopper is already looking ahead to potential bargains.

But some people have been having a lovely time of it.

This person tried the very early approach - and it paid off handsomely as "the staff outnumbered the customers".

Ordered avocado on sourdough in Sainsbury's, but ended up with toast, beans, mushrooms and tomato? Result.

And this woman got a very special service when she wanted croissants.
