'Absolute madness!' - West Ham fans love what Nathan Holland did against Newcastle

Nathan Holland's stunning goal for Oxford United against Newcastle United has prompted a huge reaction from West Ham United supporters.

The 21-year-old joined the League One outfit on loan during the January transfer window.

Prior to Tuesday night's FA Cup fourth round replay against the Magpies, Holland had made five appearances across all competitions for his new club.

Premier League top scorer: Who leads the race for the golden boot?

Appearance number six was rather special.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the final minute of normal time, Holland netted his first goal in Oxford colours with a brilliant strike to spark wild scenes inside the Kassam Stadium.

The goal also forced the game into extra-time.

But for the Hammers, all the talk was about Holland.

Take a look at the best responses on Twitter...

Speaking after making his Premier League debut in December, Holland outlined his determination to become a regular in the West Ham side.

"To come on at 1-0 down, you just try and make an impact and I tried get about them, but obviously they got the goal towards the end,” he told the club's official website. "Obviously it’s a great feeling to make my Premier League debut, though.

"This season has been a massive step forward on and off the pitch.

"I’ve just kept working hard and I’m seeing the rewards. Tonight is another reward and I just want to keep kicking on.

"I’m happy with how I did. I just tried to be positive. The gaffer told me to be brave and go one-v-one and to get a cross in so early obviously settled the nerves.

"At the end of the day, it's just a football game from there.”
