Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson 'attracting interest from English Premier League'

Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson is attracting interest from clubs in the English Premier League, according to a report.

The Scotland international, who hails from Hamilton, was a target for Watford in the summer but the Dons rebuffed a bid that fell short of their valuation of the 22-year-old.

And now The Scotsman are reporting that Ferguson is being "watched by a number of Premier League clubs" above the Hornets in the table. They are currently 17th in the standings.

Any move for ex-Hamilton Accies man Ferguson is understood to be with an eye on next season.

He is currently under contract at Pittodrie until 2024.

Ferguson has had an impressive season so far, netting eight goals in 25 appearances for Stephen Glass' side, as well as winning his first two caps for Scotland in World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Austria in September last year.

He also scored the winner in the Dons' final match before the Premiership entered the winter break, a 2-1 win at home to Dundee.
