An abandoned former Edinburgh cycle store is set to be replaced by a dental surgery.
Following the closure of their shop on Granton Road, the Edinburgh Cycle Company, re-branded at Electric Cycle Company, opened a new state-of-the-art showroom on Crew Road North.
At the time, it was said to be the biggest specific e-bike store in the UK, but in September 2022, the owner of the business, Neill, announced it had ceased trading due to a conflict with his new landlord.

The new building, situated next to a Scotmid, was rented to ECC but complications with the lease and the fire service only deeming half of it fit for storage led to the sad closure at the end of last year.
Taking to Facebook to inform customers, Neill said that after 12 years "hard graft" he was "left with nothing."
The post continued: "My landlord rented me a building I couldn't use fully as it had a prohibition notice on it from the fire brigade deeming half the premises only suitable for storage (despite being advertised as 2 floors of retail space) and when I threatened them with legal action they took me to court and made me personally bankrupt over unpaid rent."
The company's former store on Granton Road is now set to disappear for good after being closed for nearly two years, with Trinity Dental Edinburgh the spearheading new plans to transform the building into a surgery.
If granted, the plans state how the former retail unit will include three surgery rooms, staff and customer toilets, a staff room and a front reception looking out onto the road. The store is coincidently located next to another Scotmid and benefits from a fitted ATM on the shop front - which will likely be removed.
