Aaron Taylor-Johnson 'meets James Bond producers' amid rumours he's set to be next 007

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly met with James Bond producers as rumours continue to swirl that’s he’s set to be the next 007.

The actor, 32, emerged as a surprise frontrunner in line to replace Daniel Craig last year after it was reported he had taken part in a secret screen test.

And now reports claim the star has met with 007 producers to discuss taking over the character in the film franchise.

Aaron is said to have sat down with producer Barbara Broccoli and sources have claimed the meeting went “very well” after he reportedly filmed a secret screen test at Pinewood Studios late last year.

The insider went on to clarify that nothing was set in stone yet and it’s unclear what any next steps may be, according to Puck News.

Aaron is not as well-known as the other actors who have been tipped to take on the role, including Tom Hardy, James Norton and Idris Elba.

However, his acting credits are by no means short, having starred in the Kick-Ass films, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Godzilla.

Last year, a source reportedly revealed that Aaron had impressed Bond boss Broccoli during his audition.

One insider told The Sun : “Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him.

The film’s producers have also reportedly said that they are looking for a younger Bond, someone in their 30s – like Aaron, which would knock a string of the current favourites out of the running.

Aaron’s career debut came in the TV series Armadillo back in 2001, before going on to star in other shows such as The Bill and Casualty.

He found fame in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging in 2009 as teen heartthrob Robbie.

He then starred in the 2009 film, Nowhere Boy, a biopic about John Lennon and went on to marry the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, 55.

The High Wycombe born actor has recently been filming action movie The Fall Guy, and was pictured on set in Sydney in November.
