Aaron Hickey reacts to Scotland return rumours as Celtic chase ex-Hearts kid

Former Hearts youngster Aaron Hickey insists he is focused on Bologna despite rumours linking him with a quick return to Scotland.

The left back has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic, less than a year after completing a move from Tynecastle to Serie A.

But the full back isn't intending on lining up against Hearts on the opening day of the season as he declared that he was only focused on his life in Italy and ignoring any rumours.

He admits that he's heard them all and can't really hide from them but believe it's just time to get his head down and focus on what is going on that he can have an effect on.

That's why he's putting Celtic out of his mind despite his allegiances to the club, who. he left to join Hearts initially before making the breakthrough.

Speaking to Scotland HQ, he said: “Well I am fully aware that there has been interest.

“I can see it all – but I have just got to keep my head down and keep my full focus on Bologna just now.”

Hickey only moved to Italy last summer and reportedly turned down a move to Celtic to head abroad.

He impressed for the Serie A side but suffered a shoulder injury that ended his season early in March.
