AAF fan raising funds for injured Salt Lake City player

The AAF is done but the damage to its players is far from over. Gionni Paul was a linebacker on the Salt Lake City Stallions. The former Utah college star broke his arm in the Stallions’ final game.

That means medical bills. A fan of Paul and the Utes and Stallions has set up a Gofundme to try and help with the costs.

Thanks everyone who has shared and donated so far! $600 in 8 hours not to bad at all! I’ve been in touch with Gionni and he is very thankful for any and all help and he could really use it! Once again Gionni did not ask for this, I just set it up because I figured he could use the help and I appreciate all his hard work on and off the field! Keep sharing and let’s hit our goal! Thank You All!

Thus far, $1,845 of the $2,000 goal has been raised.

Paul was injured in the first quarter of the game against San Diego. He was trying to defnd a pass and broke two bones in his forearm. The result was surgery on Sunday for 15 screws and two metal plates to put it together.

“I’ve seen better days,” Paul told the Washington Post this week. “My forearm went Jello,” Paul said. “I knew it was broken then. I went into shock. I started sweating. I’m the kind of person that’s got a high pain tolerance. I knew.”
