A911 Leslie Road in Glenrothes to be closed for 'considerable time' after serious crash

A busy Fife road will be closed for a "considerable time" due to a serious crash which happened this morning.

The A911 Leslie Road in Glenrothes is off-limits in both directions between the Rothes and Leslie roundabouts – close to Riverside Park.

The road is used by many people travelling from the town centre to the north of Glenrothes, or out towards Leslie.

Police took to social media shortly after 10.30am to say that the route will be shut to traffic for some time while officers deal with the incident.

They said: "Due to a serious road traffic collision the A911 is currently closed in Glenrothes between the Rothes and Lesie roundabouts. This will be closed for a considerable time. Avoid area and find alternative route."

Fire and ambulance crews are also said to be currently at the scene.
