A young boy has died at a house in Carmarthenshire

A young boy has died after an incident at a house in west Wales, police have confirmed.

The incident happened in the Pencader area of Carmarthenshire on Wednesday evening.

Exact details of what happened have not been released at this stage. Police are now investigating the incident, but have said that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death on May 26.

The child, who has not been named, is understood to have been a toddler.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a child at a property in the Pencader area on Wednesday evening.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are with the family who are receiving support."

A spokeswoman for HM Coroner's office for Carmarthenshire confirmed that they had been notified of the death.
