A year inside Conor McGregor's Dublin pub: From celebrity appearances to petrol bomb attack

Conor McGregor's Black Forge Inn pub in Crumlin recently celebrated its first birthday.

It has been 12 months since the now famous Black Forge Inn opened its doors, and has been recognised with a number of nominations in the upcoming bar of the year awards. The pub took to social media as they celebrated its first birthday last week and promised the next 12 months will be bigger and better.

The pub's official social media said: "It's our first birthday. We would like to thank you all for your support. It's been an incredible year, hosting some of the best nights in Ireland with some of the biggest names in the world. Largest Instagram following for a pub in the world after one year.

"Multiple finalists at the upcoming @baroftheyear_ awards 2022. Serving the most amazing food dishes and the best cocktails in Ireland. Creating our very own @forgedirishstout and developing the greatest @properwhiskey cocktails. Always innovating. Next year we go up another level. Bigger and Better."

And McGregor said in reply: "The lads! Huge happy birthday team! The biggest July bambino of them all, @theblackforgeinn! Wouldn’t ya know it! Hahaha"

It has been a wild and wonderful year with celebrity sightings a plenty so lets go through a deep dive of some of the famous faces to visit the pub.

Ian Wright

Arsenal legend turned TV punditry legend Ian Wright recently popped into the Dublin pub. Wright posed for photos with customers and staff in his Dublin visit.

Kevin Hart

Before heading to his sold out 3 Arena show, Hollywood star Kevin Hart popped in for a visit to McGregor's pub. Accompanied by his entourage, Hart and his pals were treated to dinner and tried out some of the cocktails on offer.

TJ Reid

Kilkenny ace and legendary hurler TJ Reid popped into the Black Forge Inn shortly after his recent All-Ireland final loss. Reid was the star of the show for the Cats and scored nine points in the final as they narrowly lost to Limerick.

James Arthur

Conor McGregor wined and dined James Arthur before his Dublin concert at the Olympia Theatre.

The X Factor winner popped into the Black Forge Inn and spent time with the UFC star before McGregor sat in a VIP box for Arthur's gig. McGregor took to social media as he shared a number of snaps with Arthur as well as videos from the venue as McGregor sent the crowd into a frenzy upon making an appearance.

Taking to Instagram, McGregor said: "A great day and night at @theblackforgeinn with @jamesarthur23 and team! "An amazing musical performance by the lads along with the excellent hospitality my Black Forge Inn is renowned for and you’ve the perfect recipe for a great day and night!

"Good luck in the future James we are with you all the way my man. Thank you for the visit and thank you for the kind words"

Dan Bilzerian

Internet sensation Dan Bilzerian popped by earlier this year along with a number of female companions to Conor's pub' Bilzerian and his friends arrived in a luxury coach and were given the VIP treatment upon their visit.

The Black Forge Inn's head chef personally flamed steaks with McGregor's Proper 12 whiskey brand as well as posing for photos with fellow pub goers.

Petrol Bomb Attack

Conor McGregor offered his social media followers a €50,000 cash reward if they can help identify the person behind a petrol bomb attack on his Dublin pub earlier this year before deleting the Instagram post. The MMA star took to social media to offer the cash reward while sharing a video of the alleged attacker before quickly deleting the post.

McGregor's pub The Black Forge Inn was attacked in January but the UFC star was not on the premises at the time. No damage was caused and the pub and restaurant continued to stay open for business.

Two men were allegedly seen on a scooter heading towards the pub before the incident took place with police appealing for witnesses and video footage. A spokesperson for The Black Forge Inn told the Irish Mirror in a statement: "After hours last night it appears that criminals made an unprovoked effort to inflict damage to the Black Forge Inn."
