A trust in the name of Harsha

A charitable trust has come up in the name of Harsha, a Hindutva activist, who was murdered in Shivamogga. Harsha Charitable Trust, headed by Harsha’s sister Ashwini, has leaders of the BJP and Hindutva activists as office-bearers.

Ashwini, at a press conference in Shivamogga recently, said a portion of the amount contributed by people to the family following the murder of Harsha, would be utilised for the trust’s activities, including encouraging poor students and those requiring medical care, besides setting up goshalas.

Ashwini’s sister Rajani is vice-president of the trust. K.E. Kanthesh, former ZP member and son of RDPR Minister K.S. Eshwarappa, is the managing trustee.

The trust has already contributed ₹2 lakh to the family members of Vishwanath Shetty, who was murdered in 2015. It would continue to help the needy in the coming days, Ashwini said. Her father Nagaraj, mother Padma, sister Rajani and others were present at the press conference.

Harsha was murdered on February 20. Shivamogga witnessed violence during the procession of his body the next day. Shivamogga police arrested 10 people in connection with the murder. Later, the investigation into the case has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency.
