A Thunderball winner in North Somerset has a ticket for £500K and doesn't know it

Someone living near Bristol has won half a million pounds on the National Lottery - but hasn't claimed it, two weeks after they won.

The top prize on the Thunderball draw, made on August 14, was won by a ticket which was bought in North Somerset, but no one has yet come forward to claim the prize.

Camelot is urging people to 'check, and double check' their tickets to see if it was their numbers that have come up without them realising.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers in the Thunderball draw made on Friday, August 14 - two weeks ago today - and the Thunderball number itself.

The winning numbers were 1, 10, 23, 30 and 36 with the Thunderball number being 7.

The lucky ticket holder has until February 10 next year to claim their half a million pound prize, but Camelot said they hope the person will realise before then.

If they have lost their ticket, but recognise those numbers, and believe they have a genuine claim, they can still make a claim in writing - although that has to be done sooner.

"Anyone not in possession of their ticket, for whatever reason, but who believes they have a genuine claim can still make a claim in writing to Camelot, but it must be within 30 days of the draw," said a Camelot spokesperson.

"If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK," she added.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life.

“In the current situation we’re encouraging everyone to check their tickets online via The National Lottery website or via The National Lottery App where possible. You can scan your retail draw-based game tickets on The National Lottery App to see if you’ve won a prize.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket. Anyone who has any queries or who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email help@national-lottery.co.uk.
