Peter Pan is a pretty tough guy to find in Disney Dreamlight Valley. If you want to recruit him as a villager, you have to work through several tricky quests, including A Ship of Gold.
Skull Rock is a complex location to navigate, and there's a lot you need to tackle in this task. Here's a complete walkthrough for the A Ship of Gold quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete A Ship of Gold in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To complete A Ship of Gold, you need to venture further into Skull Rock and work on uncovering the mysteries that lie within. There's a lot to this task, so here's a full breakdown of all the steps you need to get done.
Follow the Shadow further into Skull Rock
Head through the archway you unlocked during the Shadows on the Wall quest, which is right by the Shadow you trapped. Go up the ramps on the other side and meet up with the newly named Forgotten near the top. Talk to them once you reach their location.
Search the area for a way to continue through Skull Rock
You're stuck again, so you need to search around the new area to find a way forward. Approach the rocks located on the left side of where The Forgotten is standing and use your Royal Pickaxe to break them.
When you break the rocks near the very edge of the small cliff you're on, you'll find some Pixie Dust and a Rope Wench on the ground. Pick these items up and return to The Forgotten to discuss what you found.
Follow the Pixie Dust Orb in Skull Rock
When you broke the rocks, a Pixie Dust Orb got free, and you now need to follow the Pixie Dust Orb to pick up all the Pixie Dust it drops. Like the Pixie Dust Orbs you chased around in an earlier quest, this one moves fast and can be easy to lose sight of, so move quickly and carefully to keep up with it.
Gather the Pixie Dust
There are six locations where the Pixie Dust Orb stops to drop some Pixie Dust for you to pick up. If you end up losing sight of it, here's where to find each one.
- The first Pixie Dust is the one you already found near the edge of the cliff.
- The second Pixie Dust is down on the first floor, right by the entrance to Skull Rock.
- The third Pixie Dust is through the door behind the spot where you found the last one. Interact with the sparkling ring on the wall to transfer over the Rope Wench you found during the last step, interact with the wheel, then head through the archway to venture into this new location. Follow the Pixie Dust Orb down deep into the cave until you reach a stone wall. Equip your Royal Pickaxe and swing at the wall to break it. The Pixie Dust Orb will then finally drop the third Pixie Dust on the other side.
- The fourth Pixie Dust is behind a few more walls that you need to break in the tunnel. Just keep going through it until you find more walls you can break down using your Royal Pickaxe.
- The fifth Pixie Dust is even further down the tunnel, although it gets even more confusing here as it seems like the Pixie Dust Orb led you to a dead end. At what looks like a dead end, turn right near the chest with some candles sitting on it. Use your Royal Pickaxe to break this hidden wall and reveal a new tunnel. Turn left in the tunnel and follow the path forward before turning left again. The fifth Pixie Dust is right around the corner, down the second tunnel.
- The sixth Pixie Dust, which is the last one you need, is back in the previous room you just left. The Pixie Dust Orb rushes there after you grab the fifth one, and you need to chase it down and grab it to drop the sixth one and pick up the Pixie Dust Orb too.
Use the Pixie Dust to make something fly
Exit the tunnel and approach the ship on the left side of the first floor. There's a note way up on the third level near The Forgotten that mentions sprinkling Pixie Dust on a ship, but you don't need to actually read this message to tackle the next part of this quest.
Approach the ship by going up the pier and interact with it to transfer the Pixie Dust you found. As soon as you do, the ship will soar up high into the air so you can progress to the next step of this quest.
Cross to the other side of Skull Rock
Make your way back up to where The Forgotten is on the third level of Skull Rock. Cross over the top of the flying ship as a bridge and go down the stairs to head toward the spot where The Forgotten and the Shadow are waiting for you. Chat with The Forgotten about what to do next once you cross.
Solve the Skull Rock barrel puzzle
The next step is to solve the Skull Rock barrel puzzle, and it's easily one of the toughest puzzles we've ever seen in DDV. There are six barrels, each with a unique symbol on it. You need to match the symbols that go together by rotating the correct barrels to face one another. Here's how you do it.
- Turn the barrel with the hook and the barrel with the clock to face each other. These two symbols are a reference to Captain Hook.
- Turn the barrel with the bell and the barrel with the pixie to face each other. These two symbols are a reference to Tinker Bell.
- Turn the barrel with the shadow and the barrel with the sewing needle to face each other. These two symbols are a reference to Peter Pan.
Find the key to the captain's cabin
Your next task is to find the key to the captain's cabin. It's a big yellow key sitting on a circular table right behind The Forgotten, so head over to them near the ship to find it. Once you have this item, head back down into the ship to use it.
Investigate the captain's cabin for another Rope Winch
Interact with the sparkling door near the middle of the ship to transfer the key and open the captain's cabin. Head inside this secret room to search for another Rope Winch, which you need to open another gate in Skull Rock. Walk over to the right corner of the room and pick up the Rope Winch from right next to the piano.
Open the second gate in Skull Rock
Exit the captain's cabin and go back to the area above the ship where The Forgotten is awaiting. Interact with the glowing circle on the wall behind them to transfer the Rope Winch and open the second gate in Skull Rock. Spin the wheel once to officially unlock the gate and finish the A Ship in Gold quest. You're now one step closer to unlocking Peter Pan.
