'A proper captain' - Nottingham Forest can benefit from defender's return

Michael Dawson has been a big miss for Nottingham Forest. If he does come back from injury this week, it will be a huge boost for us.

Dawson and Joe Worrall had been really good together as a partnership. They’d developed a strong relationship in the centre of the defence.

I think we’d looked more solid when those two were playing together - and keeping more clean-sheets is something we need to do.

I think we’ve missed Dawson’s leadership as well. He’s a proper captain.

He battles away and he’s very vocal on the pitch, just like Worrall. He’ll give people a rollicking if they’re not doing their job.

I’d bring Dawson straight back into the team when he’s fully fit - although you don’t want to risk him if he’s not 100 percent.

Hopefully Samba Sow is back soon, too. He had been very good for us.

It’s great to see Ryan Yates back.

I’ve always been a fan of his. He reminds me of a young Roy Keane. He’s not afraid of getting stuck in with a tackle.

He’s like Keane for that, and a bit like Ian Bowyer with the way he gets up and down the pitch - a box to box midfielder.

Kenny Burns was this week speaking to Sarah Clapson.
