A pregnant Michigan woman, having contractions, disappears into a dark-colored car close to midnight. She told her mother, ‘I’ll be back’

A pregnant Michigan woman near her due date has vanished after stepping into a dark-colored car late at night in Wexford County, near Cadillac.

According to the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Rebecca Kay Park was last seen around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, leaving her mother’s home in Boon Township. Moments earlier, she told her mother, “Hold on, I got somebody to pick me up. This is just something I’ve got to do. I’m sorry,” and then added, “I’ll be back.” A dark-colored sedan pulled up, and Park climbed into the passenger seat. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Her fiancé says Park was having contractions

Her fiancé, Richard Falor, who is also the father of her unborn child, told reporters that Park had been experiencing contractions and had visited a local hospital earlier that day, where she was told she was one centimeter dilated and then sent home to wait for labor to progress.

Falor said the couple had been preparing for the baby’s arrival, with Park’s due date set for November 18. “She was ready to be a mom,” Falor told People. “She was excited and nervous, but she was ready.” He added that her sudden departure was entirely out of character. “This is not like her,” he said. “She would never just walk away.”

Searchers found Park’s phone

Investigators later found Park’s cellphone discarded on a dirt “two-track” road near her mother’s house, a discovery Falor called especially alarming because she never went anywhere without it. He also told reporters that Rebecca had approximately $2,000 in cash when she vanished.

The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office has classified Park’s disappearance as a missing and endangered person case. Investigators say there has been no activity on her phone or bank accounts since the night she vanished. Despite extensive ground searches using K-9 units, drones, and volunteers, authorities have yet to uncover any trace of her.

According to UpNorthLive, a message from the sheriff’s office addressed to Park read in part, “Rebecca, the Sheriff’s Office and people close to you are concerned about your wellbeing. Based on statements made by people close to you, it is possible that you are scared or hiding for reasons known only by you. We assure you that you aren’t in any trouble. We have no reason to deprive you of any freedom that you already have.”

Anyone with information about Park’s whereabouts is urged to call Wexford Central Dispatch at (231) 779-9211 and ask to speak with a sheriff’s deputy. Even small tips, authorities say, could be crucial to finding the young woman and her unborn child. Park is described as 5-foot-2, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black coat, light blue jeans, and gray shoes, and carrying a black bag.
