A new Danny Boyle movie on music mogul Alan McGee is filming in Glasgow

A new movie based on the life of Glaswegian music mogul Alan McGee is filming in Glasgow.

The movie sees multi-award winning director Danny Boyle team up with writer and author Irvine Welsh again, following the huge success of Trainspotting and T2.

Starring Ewen Bremner as the infamous record label boss, 'Creation Stories' is based on McGee’s autobiography, “The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label”.

McGee, who grew up in Glasgow, attended King's Park Secondary School (where he met future Primal Scream founder Bobby Gillespie), and co-founded Creation Records in 1983.

The label had a host of top bands including Oasis , Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus & Mary Chain, with McGee famously discovering the Gallagher brothers one night at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut back in May of 1993.

Although filming has already begun on the project, it is unclear how many days they will be in Glasgow.

Irvine Welsh is already teasing fans, posting an image on Twitter of himself with Ewen Bremner on the set of the new film.
