A.J. Green confirmed out for Monday night in Week 4 vs. Steelers

The 0-3 Cincinnati Bengals didn’t waste any time ruling out star wide receiver A.J. Green for the team’s Monday night game in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Head coach Zac Taylor broke the news today, per ESPN’s Ben Baby: “Zac Taylor said WR A.J. Green will be out against Pittsburgh. Taylor said he doesn’t expect A.J. Green to practice this week. Said he doesn’t want to make a timeline on his return.”

This one doesn’t register as much of a surprise, as Green was just getting running on a treadmill on Sept. 11; not long after, Taylor noted there still wasn’t an updated timetable.

The Bengals and Steelers are both 0-3 going into Monday’s game, though given the pace of Green’s recovery, that played a minimal factor here for the star wideout in a contract year.
