A day after reaching truce, Jhinda topples Daduwal, returns as HSGMC president

CHANDIGARH: A day after reaching truce , Jagdish Singh Jhinda, the former President of Haryana Sikh Gurudwara management Committee (HSGMC) on Saturday unseated Baljit Singh Daduwal, the latest incumbent as President.

All this happened during the meeting of executive members held at Gurudwara Neev Sahib at Kaithal during the evening hours. 33 out of the 36 members of HSGMC attended the meeting. Besides Baljit SIngh Daduwal two of his confidants did not turn up for the meeting.

According to information, during the meeting, a resolution was presented to unseat Daduwal from the post of President. This was followed by the election of the new HSGMC president . All the 33 members present in the meeting voted for Jhinda.

Jhinda had headed the HSGMC Ad Hoc at the time of formation. While Daduwal is learned to have been elected two years ago.

"All the members who had worked with Daduwal were unhappy over his style of working. The members had been alleging being ignored. Same was brought to the notice of authorities as well and a meeting was convened at Kaithal. Daduwal and rest two members were given the due message about the meeting and agenda. But they did not turn up,’’ said Jagdish Singh Jhinda.

By the filing of the report, Jhinda and rest of the members were on the way to Karnal where they were expected to meet chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss the further course of action. Sources said that Khattar’s office had not confirmed any appointment.

Meanwhile, it is learned that Daduwal had two meeting in at Dhamtam Sahib Gurudwara in Jind and one slated for a Gurudwara Sahib in Kaithal as well as in Ambala.

Efforts made to reach out to Daduwal failed as the calls made to him remained unanswered. Meanwhile Daduwal’s former close confidant and former joint secretary Chandandeep Singh Khurana who handled the legal affairs too confirmed the development. `` Now the entire old executive stands dissolved and me and one more member has been tasked to identify the new members of new executive,’’ said Chandandeep.

Notably, there were total 41 members of HSGMC, Five have passed over over past two years. ..

Notably, on Friday, Jhinda and Daduwal had met and resolved to sort out their issues. Jhinda had been repeatedly attacking Daduwal and latter had even served notices upon Jhinda and his former aide Didar Singh Nalwi for embezzlement of funds.
