CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh reported a major spike in daily Covid numbers, with the state reporting 356 fresh cases on Tuesday, followed by Haryana and Punjab with 318 and 234 fresh cases respectively. Apart from these fresh cases, one Covid patient has also succumbed in Punjab.
In Haryana, Karnal and Panchkula have emerged as new hotspots. Gurgaon reported the highest 122 cases, followed by 44 cases from Karnal and 41 cases from Panchkula district. The state has 1,599 cases active now, out of which 72 are hospitalised.
In Punjab, 66 cases were reported in Mohali, 33 persons tested positive in Ludhiana, 26 in Patiala, 21 in Bathinda, 12 in Jalandhar, and 10 each in Amritsar and Pathankot. A total of 19,836 beneficiaries were given the Covid-19 vaccine across the state in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, Himachal Pradesh has 1,350 cases active now, while 208 patients were declared recovered on Tuesday.
