9 Rising Dividend Stocks Pay Out More Than Treasuries Now

Just when S&P 500 investors all but wrote off dividend stocks — many are offering Treasury-beating yields. And some are putting up solid gains, too.

Nine S&P 500 stocks, including Verizon, Paccar and T. Rowe Price, yield more than the 10-year Treasury yield's 4.09%, say an Investor's Business Daily analysis of data from S&P Global Market Intelligence and MarketSmith. What's more, their stock prices are all up 2% or more this year.

Nice Bump In S&P 500 Dividends

Beating the 10-Year Treasury yield got a little tougher for S&P 500 dividend stocks this year. This benchmark interest rate is up 5.8% this year.

Nonetheless, a surprising number of S&P 500 stocks are now yielding more than 4.09%. And that includes nearly 14% of the stocks in the index.

What's the good of beating the 10-Year Treasury's yield if the stock is falling, though? That's where nine other S&P 500 stocks stand out. These stocks are all up this year. And that's somewhat unusual for high-dividend paying stocks. The SPDR S&P Dividend ETF is down 0.9% vs. a 2.9% increase in the S&P 500.

Dividend Gainers

What's an example? Take Verizon stock for instance. It's yielding 6.3%. But on top of that S&P 500-beating yield the stock is up nearly 11% this year. Analysts think the company's profit will fall 2.5% this year, but gain 1.7% in 2025.

Another highlight is industrial truck maker Paccar. It's yielding an impressive 4.2%. Additionally, it's up 3.6% this year on top of that. The company's profit is seen falling 17% in 2024, but rising nearly 6% in 2025.

Who says you can't find big dividends and stock gains, too?
