Woman loses airport job after filming herself on shift but TikTok thinks the dismissal was justified

A popular form of content on TikTok is the “day in the life” type videos. They often involve a person recording their daily routine, from getting up in the morning to going to work, of course, depending on what you do for work you may want to think twice about what you share with potentially millions of viewers online.

One woman, who goes by brymarixx on TikTok, found this out the hard way after recording her work day as a manager at a branch of MAC Cosmetics. While you wouldn’t think a retail job would require so much security, the things she chooses to show in the video could be used by thieves to steal the cash the store is holding. She shows herself counting the money in the cash register as well as looking at the takings for the day.

What’s even worse is that this particular store is in LAX airport. An airport is arguably one of the most strict places there can be when it comes to security.

In another video we can see her collecting the cash for the store, for a brief moment some viewers claim that they can see the passcode on the safe. Elsewhere in the clip she can be seen doing her makeup while the store is open to customers as well as taking a nap.

Bry gets fired

While many viewers pointed out alarming breaches of security in Bry’s videos, it seems she may have been unaware as to what she was doing, at least until she was fired by LAX. Bry would document her last day working at the LAX MAC store on August 17. She was fired due to the numerous security breaches although she claims that she is still in good standing with MAC Cosmetics.

Bry seems shocked by the sudden dismissal as she films herself walking out of her job with a box of things, presumably never to return.

The people of TikTok were not surprised

Of course, many who saw Bry’s videos likely saw this coming a mile away and they were less than sympathetic. One person commented, “What did you expect?” Going back to her previous videos there were plenty of comments scolding her for not realizing that what she was doing was a fireable offense, one comment reads “Hoooooow did you not know this would be against policy?!!!!” Another added, “you didn’t have to show you filing out paperwork or the customer interactions or the money pick up”

In a story time video she specified that her videos were not deemed a safety risk but they were against policy. “Am I mad at myself for making a mistake? Yes,” she admits in the video. It’s a harsh lesson but unfortunately Bry has nobody to blame except herself.
