Cunning thieves made off with a 6ft Santa from a charity light display in a Scots village.
Locals have been left 'saddened' and 'appalled' by the theft of the light-up Father Christmas.
The missing statue stands 6ft tall and 4ft wide, and was nicked from Belhelvie, Aberdeenshire, between 10pm on Sunday December 5 and 7am on Monday December 6.
Police said the big Santa had flashing lights which made it appear as though he was waving.
PC Murray, who is the enquiry officer, said: “It was part of a charity light display and it was made and donated by a local resident to the village.
“The theft has had a big impact on the village who are totally appalled and saddened by the incident.
“I would appeal if anyone has any information regarding the theft to call 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous then call the registered charity Crimestoppers on 0800555111’. Quote PS-20211206-1961 when you call.”
