64 from Gaya OTA inducted into Army

GAYA: Altogether 64 cadets from different states of India and friendly nations, who participated in the passing out parade organised at Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), Gaya on Saturday were commissioned as officers in the Indian Army.

Eight cadets were from friendly nations – five from Bhutan and three from Sri Lanka.

Apart from the 64 cadets who got commissioned as officers in the Army, 45 also joined the passing out parade under technical entry scheme-45.

These 45 cadets would proceed to pursue engineering degree at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering-Secunderabad, Military College of Telecommunications Engineering-Mhow and the College of Military Engineering-Pune.

At 21, the cadets from Uttar Pradesh outnumbered other states. Bihar figured at second position with five cadets getting commissioned followed by four each from Haryana and Rajasthan, three each from Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, two each from Delhi, Jharkhand and Punjab and one each from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal.

Lieutenant general J S Nain, general officer commanding-in-chief, southern command reviewed the passing out parade.
