£50m Arsenal transfer clue dropped as major target admits he could be forced to leave

Arsenal transfer target Orkun Kokcu has suggested that he wants to scoop Feyenoord a considerable transfer fee as he continues to be linked with a move away from the Dutch outfit.

The 21-year-old Turkish international has been rumoured to be under consideration by a number of clubs throughout Europe, including Arsenal.

A swoop from the Gunners would certainly make sense considering the club’s need for midfield recruits ahead of next season, whilst Kokcu has also caught the eye with his performances for Feyenoord this season.

He has needed five goals and notched six in all competitions this term despite his side currently being six points behind in the race for the Eredivisie title.

Amid plenty of talk over his future, Kokcu has said that he is happy to remain with the club but has admitted that he would want to scoop them a large transfer fee should he wave goodbye.

Talking to ESPN NL, he said: “I know that the club is not in very good shape financially, so I’d prefer to provide a nice transfer fee for the club at the right time. I don’t know yet how that will go on.

“There will be a new transfer period next summer and if it doesn’t happen then I’ll happily stay here for another year. Or however long it might be.”

At the current time, the youngster is valued at £12.6m by transfermarkt and has three-and-a-half years left to run on his current contract in the Netherlands.

However, former Feyenoord star Ali Boussaboun believes that he would command a far larger fee in the future.

He said: “Kökcü is also doing well internationally.

“Perhaps (he won’t move to) a club at the absolute top, but certainly at the sub-top. Clubs such as Arsenal. Kökcü may be worth €50-60m later.”
