50 days until Packers and Bears open 2019 NFL season

Football is 50 days away.

As noted by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the start of the NFL’s regular season – and the Green Bay Packers’ visit to Chicago to play the Bears in the season-opening contest – is only 50 days from Wednesday.

The primetime opener at Soldier Field is set for Sept. 5. The longtime rivals will help celebrate the start of the NFL’s 100th anniversary season with their 199th meeting.

The Packers currently lead the series, 97-95-6. Last season, the Packers came back from a 20-0 deficit to beat the Bears in the season opener at Lambeau Field but later fell to the Bears at Soldier Field, clinching the NFC North title for Chicago.

Overall, the Packers have won 15 of the 19 games played between the two teams since 2010.

The Packers start training camp in eight days and host the Houston Texans for the preseason opener in 22 days. Super Bowl LIV is exactly 200 days away.
