Last year, 3,232 products from five different consumer categories were recalled, according to data from Sedgwick, a global claims management company. Product recalls can be expensive for companies to manage, but they also place financial burdens on consumers, who might have defective or broken products and don’t realize they can return them for a refund.

Ninja Pressure Cooker
The Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker + Air Fryer, sold at Costco, has been recalled. The lid on these units is faulty, and some customers report they can open the lid while the cooker is pressurized, which is a safety hazard. Ninja asked customers who have this product to discard their lids and fill out a form online to request a new lid.

Michelin Tires
If you purchased a specific type of Michelin tires called Agilis CrossClimate C-Metric tires, Michelin reports that they do not meet safety standards and could increase the risk of a car accident. Those who have these tires can visit a local Michelin store and get new tires free of charge.
Anker Power Bank
If you purchased an Anker Power Bank, model A1257 at Costco, you can get a replacement power bank due to a potentially faulty battery. Visit the recall page on Anker’s website to see if your device qualifies. If it does, you will need to submit a photo of the power bank showing its model number and the word “recalled” in permanent marker on it.
Segway Electric Kickscooter
The Segway Ninebot Electric Kickscooter Max G30LP has been recalled as some customers have reported that the folding mechanism stops working, which can cause the user to fall. In this instance, Segway is sending self-maintenance kits to customers who own this scooter so that they can repair the issue themselves.
BowFlex Dumbbells
If you purchased BowFlex 552 adjustable dumbbells at Costco, you can return them to the store for a full refund. The recall explained that some customers report the weights are coming apart while they are working out, which poses a serious safety hazard.
