Today’s most popular smartphones come from a variety of big names in the industry. And although they can be extremely expensive, with price tags that can exceed $1,000, they offer the kind of power and capability that the average power user wants.
Of course, the biggest problem with today’s top smartphones is the cash you need to shell out to get them. And try as you might, you might not always find the best deals on the smartphone you want.
But as the holidays approach, the tech-focused big-box retailer Best Buy might have a solution. The company sells some of the most popular and powerful smartphones on the market and many of those devices are currently on sale. From a buy-one-get-one deal on a new Pixel 3 to $750 savings on a new iPhone, the deals are outstanding.
That said, the deals won’t last. So, if you’re serious about buying a new smartphone and want to save some cash doing it, you’ll need to act fast.
Read on for our roundup of the best smartphone deals available now at Best Buy:
A Pixel 3 BOGO

If you’re interested in buying a Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL, Best Buy has you covered with a pretty great deal.
When you buy a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL at Best Buy, you’ll be able to get another free Pixel 3 64GB to go with it. You’ll only be able to take advantage of the offer if you want to add a new line at Verizon, however, so if you want the deal at AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile, you’re out of luck.
According to Best Buy, the free phone is available as a bill credit over 24 months. You’ll need to pay full price for the first smartphone.
Big Samsung Savings

Customers who want to be able to get their hands on a new Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9, or Galaxy S9+ should listen up.
Over at Best Buy, you can save $150 on any one of those handsets by signing up for installment payments with your carrier. The Galaxy Note 9, which typically retails for $1,000, will be available for $850 and the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are each seeing their costs slashed by $150 to $642 and $762, respectively.
You’ll need to lock yourself into an installment payment ranging between 20 months and 30 months depending on the carrier and you won’t need to put any money down. The deals are available on activations, but at Sprint, you can only take advantage of it on upgrades.
An iPhone X BOGO

Apple’s iPhone X might be a year old by now, but it’s still a powerful smartphone with appealing features. And you can get two iPhones for the price of one if you buy one.
According to Best Buy, if you choose an iPhone X model with 64GB of storage, the company will give you a free iPhone 8 with 64GB of storage when you choose an 18-month Sprint Flex lease or a 24-month installment plan. The offer is only available when you add at least one line to your plan.
If you’d rather just buy an iPhone X instead of taking advantage of the BOGO, Best Buy is selling it for $50 off its regular retail price.
Save Hundreds on Galaxy Note 9

In addition to the aforementioned $150 savings on the Galaxy Note 9 at the carrier of your choice, Best Buy is also offering a credit of up to $600 if you pick up Samsung’s latest handset.
If you bring an old phone into a Best Buy store as a trade-in, the company will assign a value depending on the model you’re selling and its condition. If you trade in an iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, or Galaxy S9+ that works, you’ll be eligible for a $600 savings. An iPhone 8 will fetch you $550 and a Galaxy Note 8 or Galaxy S9 will give you a $500 credit.
A $750 iPhone XR Savings

Apple’s iPhone XR is a $750 smartphone that comes with a design similar to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max but doesn’t offer the OLED screen and other features you might like. But if you’re willing to buy two iPhones, you can save a few bucks.
According to Best Buy, if you’re willing to buy two new iPhones at your carrier and one of those phones will be on a newly activated line, you can get an iPhone XR for free.
In order to qualify for the offer, you need to buy a full-price iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max. That phone must be active on the carrier’s network for at least six months and the second phone — the iPhone XR — must be active for 24 months on the network.
You won’t get a $750 check for your trouble, but you will get the credit applied monthly over the 24-month period, allowing you to get Apple’s latest handset for free.
