Regardless of whether you plan to decorate now or wait a couple more weeks, here are the best stores to find trending fall items on a budget.
Target
“Target is a great option for fall fashion. There’s a reason Target fans refer to the store as Tarjay: it’s fancy,” Melanie Musson, retail finance expert with Quote.com, wrote in an email. “Surprisingly, you can find stylish fall clothes and jewelry for affordable prices. You could go to the department store and spend three times as much, or you could find what you want at Target.”
According to People, Target’s early fall pieces are trending among shoppers, with prices ranging from $8 to $28 per piece.

T.J. Maxx
T.J. Maxx has officially declared “Code Orange” at its stores, according to the brand’s TikTok post. In other words, it’s time to do some fall shopping.
For those who are on a budget but still want the first pick, a T.J. Maxx employee recommended shopping in mid-August and through the second week of October, according to a Reddit post. According to the post, most shoppers wait too long and become frustrated when the items sell out.
Hobby Lobby
Deals on fall decor typically don’t start until we’re halfway through the season, but Hobby Lobby has already started marking items down.
“Hobby Lobby offers fall decor at great deals, especially when the items are on sale or you have a coupon,” Musson wrote. “Sometimes, if you shop at boutiques, you’ll notice they did their stocking from Hobby Lobby.”
Marshalls
You can find fall decor and fashion at Marshalls at an affordable price. Marshalls, owned by the same parent company as T.J. Maxx, is an off-price retailer, meaning it purchases excess inventory, closeout deals and canceled orders from brand-name stores and manufacturers and then sells them at a discount.
According to Best Life, shop early for the lowest prices, look for markdowns indicated by red and yellow stickers on price tags, and don’t forget the online shop.
Dollar Tree
“Dollar Tree has fun fall decor for $1.25,” Musson noted. “Dollar Tree items aren’t the highest quality, but they look surprisingly good, and you can spruce up your home even on a tight budget.”
Dollar Tree has everything from autumn-inspired tote bags to dinner table centerpieces and fall-scented candles.
