Newegg may not be a household name, but it’s a regular during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping season. Whilst this year’s deals aren’t as good as 2017’s, there’s still a few Cyber Monday smartphone savings that are worth your attention. LG’s ThinQ, which has been a battleground for Black Friday retailers, gets a good $230 discount at Newegg, bringing the price down to $519. This is cheaper than Amazon’s impressive deal (which is still live), but not as good as the Best Buy $600+ discount when you buy with a 24 month contract.
Last year’s Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which hasn’t featured heavily this holiday shopping season, gets a decent $300 discount, bringing the total price down to $499 unlocked.
The Morotola G6 is slightly cheaper at Newegg than other retailers like Amazon by about $5 at $193.98, and it comes with a free pair of Motorola Pulse over ear bluetooth headphones. If you’re looking for a good mid-range phone, this is it. Although I can’t vouch for the quality of the headphones.
From here the deals become dramatically less impressive. You can pick up a Samsung J7 Crown for half price ($99) which is the the same deal you’ll find at most other major retailers this Black Friday/Cyber Monday. There’s also a range of discounts on the Honor range, with the best being $30 off the 7X (which you’ll also find at Amazon)
Avoid iPhone or Samsung deals here, they’re not good. The iPhone 8 Plus, for example, is still retailing at close to $1000, when it’s under $600 virtually everywhere else.
The LG ThinQ is the standout deal here and, to a lesser extent, the Mate 10 Pro. To Newegg’s credit, these are all unlocked – money upfront – deals, which you should always go for over a lengthy contract deal if you can afford it.
