Dark thrillers are the kind of shows that keep you leaning in, curious about what’s around the corner. They don’t always rely on jump scares or big reveals, but instead build their tension through clever storytelling and characters you can’t quite figure out.

Prime Video has a strong lineup of series that fit this space, ranging from crime investigations to psychological puzzles and even stories with a supernatural edge. The variety means there’s something for everyone in the streamer service’s ever-growing library.

In this list, we’ve picked five of the best dark thriller shows currently available to stream on Prime Video. Whether you’re looking to binge a full season over the weekend or just try something new for your next watch, these series are a great place to start.

‘The Devil’s Hour’

A woman named Lucy (Jessica Raine) wakes up every night at exactly 3:33 a.m. A time she dubs the “devil’s hour,” with no explanation for her recurring insomnia. Strange and terrifying events begin to unfold in her life, including visions of people she doesn’t recognize and disturbing incidents that seem connected to a string of murders.

As Lucy investigates, she discovers links between her experiences and a series of seemingly unconnected crimes, forcing her to piece together clues from both the living and the dead. Along the way, she crosses paths with Gideon (Peter Capaldi), a mysterious figure whose own secrets may hold answers, as well as law enforcement, medical professionals, and others drawn into the mystery. And with every night, the developments grow ever stranger.
