47-year-old man ends life at Golf Course Metro station in Noida

NOIDA: A 47-year-old man ended his life by jumping in front of the metro at Golf course metro station in Noida on Monday morning. Police have, so far, not found any suicide note from his possession.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Rajesh, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana and currently resided in Gautam Budh Nagar.

" We received a call about the incident around 8:50 am on Monday. A team from sector 39 police station immediately rushed to the spot and found Rajesh's body on the metro track. The body was sent for post mortem. During investigation, it was found that Rajesh had come at the metro station along with his wife and were heading to their house in Jhajjar. He suddenly had jumped in front of the metro," Rajneesh Verma Assistant Commissioner of Police Noida -1 said.

The deceased's wife told police that Rajesh worked as a supervisor for MRF tyres company.

" The woman told us that Rajesh had gone to check if the train was approaching towards the platform or not. She also mentioned that suddenly his foot slipped and he fell in front of the coming metro. We are scanning the CCTV footages of the area to know if the couple had any argument or fight before Rajesh took the extreme step," a senior officer at sector 39 police station said.

Further legal proceedings are underway.
