On Sunday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers used a late defensive stand to hold off the Las Vegas Raiders and extend its win streak to two games and move to 2-1 on the season. We’ve had a chance to pour over the gamebook and here are 4 things that stood out.

Joey Porter Jr. getting more snaps

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. played 38 percent of the defensive snaps Sunday night which is up from 16 percent last week.

Running back by committee is happening

Najee Harris played 50 percent of the offensive snaps while Jaylen Warren played 47 percent. That’s about as close to an even split as you can get and while it didn’t result in a great rushing attack, progress was made.

Elandon Roberts being phased out

Starting inside linebacker Elandon Roberts only played 17 defensive snaps compared to 53 snaps for Cole Holcomb and 47 snaps for Kwon Alexander. Even worse, Mark Robinson only played four defensive snaps.

This week the split between Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal at strong safety great much wider with Kazee playing 53 snaps compared to 41 for Neal.
