4 staff members at Stoneman Douglas High School are reassigned

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ Three administrators and a security specialist at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been reassigned in relation to February's mass shooting, the Broward County School District says.

The staff members are Assistant Principal Jeff Morford, Assistant Principal Winfred Porter Jr., Assistant Principal Denise Reed and Security Specialist Kelvin Greenleaf.

The moves come after Superintendent Robert Runcie recently told the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission, which is investigating the Feb. 14 massacre at the school, that he would take soon disciplinary actions against some employees at the school.

The commission raised questions about whether some staff members took the proper steps to deal with former student Nikolas Cruz before he returned to the campus and killed 17 people.

It's unclear where the administrators will be housed and whether the moves are permanent.

The school district "is examining material received from the commission to review the response by staff to the tragedy and preceding events. Evaluation will also be used to improve school safety and services to students," the district said.

The full interim report from the commission is to be presented in January 2019.
