4 officers injured, suspect dead in incident at Illinois manufacturing firm, sources and officials say

An active shooter reported Friday afternoon in Aurora, Ill., is dead, law enforcement sources said.

Dozens of area police officers responded to Henry Pratt Co., officials said, a manufacturing firm located in an industrial park about 30 miles west of Chicago.

A city spokesman told WGN that four officers were injured while responding to the scene near Highland Avenue and Prairie Street; their conditions had stabilized.

The spokesman did not provide information on civilian casualties.

An employee named John Probst told the local ABC affiliate he was in the building when the shooting took place. He identified the gunman as a co-worker.

"One of the guys was up in the office, he said this person was shooting and he come running down and he was bleeding pretty bad," he said. " ... What I saw was the guy running down the aisle with a pistol with a laser on it."

Rush Copley hospital officials in Aurora said in a tweet they are "assisting those involved in the active shooter incident" and had received two patients who were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
