4 draft prospects worth a 1st-round pick who probably fall into Rd. 2

The Arizona Cardinals have the third pick of the second round of the 2023 draft, which means they will likely have their choice of some players who perhaps should have been first-round picks but, for some reason, fall out of the first round.

Who are potential first-round talents who probably won’t go on Round 1?

Draft Wire managing editor Jeff Risdon gives us four first-round talents who might not get selected in the first round. Are they potential fits for the Cardinals?

A center who is worth a first-round pick falling to the second round? Where can we sign up?

As of right now, the Cardinals’ starting center will be a guy named Hjelte Froholdt. Even if they sign a veteran, getting Schmitz would be a steal in the second round.

Arkansas LB Drew Sanders

A first-round talent off-ball linebacker? He is good, but probably not a fit, as the Cardinals already have Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins, and then they signed Kyzir White.

Clemson DT Bryan Bresee

Bresee is a good fit in Round 2, as they have no impact interior defensive linemen.

Utah TE Dalton Kincaid

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Kincaid is talented but a luxury for the Cardinals. They have Zach Ertz and used a second-round pick on Trey McBride last season. It might be fun, though, to pair Kincaid, who reminds some of a young Ertz, with McBride.
