Netflix is always bringing new movies to its ever-evolving content library. And while that means there's always something new to watch... it also means staying on top of every single release that you want to watch is a pretty tough task.
If you're planning to spend the weekend on your sofa in front of the world's biggest streaming service and want to skip straight to watching something great, I've got your back.
After looking through Netflix's recent additions, I've picked a small handful of movies that you might well want to stream over the next couple of days. Below, you'll find my Netflix weekend watchlist.
3 new to Netflix movies to watch this weekend
'Black Phone 2'
If you didn't catch it last weekend, "Black Phone 2" came to Netflix on May 16, and if you're in the mood for horror, this could be the pick for you. "The Black Phone" is also available to stream on Netflix, so you can catch up.
This horror sequel takes place years after Finn (Mason Thames) escaped The Grabber (Ethan Hawke). But in "The Black Phone 2," the terrifying villain returns to menace Finn's younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), from beyond the grave. Gwen starts seeing visions of a winter camp, and convinces Finn to take her there in an effort to end their torment... and together, they confront the killer, discovering he's grown more powerful in death.

'Ladies First'
Netflix's newest original movie is "Ladies First," a gender-swap comedy directed by Thea Sharrock ("Wicked Little Letters") that upends the life of ladies' man, Damien Sachs (Sacha Baron Cohen). It's an adaptation of the 2018 French movie "I Am Not an Easy Man" (which is also on Netflix).
On the surface, Sachs' life is one of wealth, power, and casual flings, but just as he's on the cusp of landing the CEO title at an ad agency, he awakes one day to his worst nightmare. Somehow, he's woken up in an alternate reality where women run the world, and he now finds himself having to go toe-to-toe with the fierce, fearless Alex Fox (Rosamund Pike).

'Nope'
I'm rounding out this list with Jordan Peele's dark sci-fi movie, "Nope," which also came to Netflix this week. The film revolves around two siblings — OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and Emerald Haywood (Keke Palmer) — who run a Californian horse ranch together.
After a freak incident claims the life of their father, they work to keep the family business afloat. As strange, unexplainable activity increases above their property, they team up with a handful of people to try and capitalize on the mystery... but as they continue to try and make the most of what's going on, they invite unimaginable consequences as they contend with a new entity.
