A second person has died after a multi-vehicle crash injured several people earlier in March in Gary, Indiana.

Paulette Bailey, 66, died of her injuries Monday after the March 5 crash at Industrial Highway and Clark Road, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Ershala Allen, the 34-year-old driver of a Grand Prix in the crash, died at the scene, the Lake County coroner’s office has said.

That day, Allen crossed the center line and crashed into a semitrailer before spinning into a Chevrolet Impala, according to an email from Gary police spokeswoman Dawn Westerfield.

Bailey and another person in the Impala were hospitalized with serious injures, she said.

Autopsy results released Tuesday found that Bailey died of injuries from the crash, according to the medical examiner’s office.
