2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Is Way Cheaper, Gets a Range-Extended Powertrain

The revived Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer haven't been a success. So for 2026, Jeep is rethinking things, dropping the "Wagoneer" name and making the Grand Wagoneer a lot cheaper. In addition to a facelift, Jeep is also adding a range-extended EV (REEV) powertrain from the upcoming Ram 1500 REV.

Whereas the previous Grand Wagoneer started at $87,040 and climbed to $114,635 for a long-wheelbase Series III Obsidian model, the pricing for the new model shifts down quite a bit, into the old Wagoneer's territory. Jeep is also dropping the confusing Series I, II, and III trims in favor of some familiar names. Here's a breakdown.

Model Price
Grand Wagoneer 4x2 $64,740
Grand Wagoneer 4x2 LWB $67,740
Grand Wagoneer 4x4 $67,740
Grand Wagoneer 4x4 LWB $70,740
Limited Altitude 4x4 $73,735
Limited Altitude 4x4 LWB $76,735
Summit Obsidian 4x4 $95,985
Summit Obsidian 4x4 LWB $98,985

The base engine remains Stellantis' 3.0-liter twin-turbo "Hurricane" inline-six, making 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. But more interesting is the REEV option, which is coming later in the model year. It consists of a 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which is charged via a 3.6-liter V-6 and a 120-kilowatt generator. This setup should deliver over 500 miles of range.

The REEV will also be powerful: 647 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque, which puts the Grand Wagoneer into Cadillac Escalade-V territory. The automaker claims a sub-5-second 0-60 mile-per-hour run for the REEV.

Jeep hasn't announced pricing for the REEV yet or confirmed an exact availability date. But we'll be watching this closely, as it's a very intriguing option.

Beyond that, the Grand Wagoneer gets a new front fascia with a light-up grille inspired by the electric Wagoneer S. Also on the face: the Jeep logo. Jeep originally wanted "Wagoneer" to be its own subbrand, and put the model name on the leading edge of the hood. Now with that plan abandoned, the Grand Wagoneer gets a Jeep badge.

The exterior also gets new colors, wheel options, and dark trim. No more chrome. Inside, the interior is much the same, save for a new color option and a larger heads-up display.

All this comes as Stellantis works to save itself from years of bad decision-making. Jeep's push upmarket was a failure, so now, it's trying to move back down to its more traditional positioning and win back its old customers. Jeep may be playing catch-up for the most part, but with the REEV powertrain, it's leading the rest of the industry as competitors race to make similar options a reality.
