2019 NFL Draft: WR Marquise Brown (foot) to miss NFL Combine

Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown won’t be participating in the 2019 NFL Combine next week after it was revealed he underwent foot surgery for a LisFranc injury in January.

Brown was projected to be one of the top wide receivers taken in the 2019 NFL Draft in April. It remains to be seen how this impact his stock, but it is likely that any first-round aspirations are now out of the window.

Even with the surgery, Brown is expected to be ready for training camp with whatever team winds up selecting him in April.

The Indianapolis Colts are in the need for a wide receiver, especially one that can make plays after the catch. Though Brown is more suited for a vertical passing offense, he could be a potential target for the Colts given his ability to break off a big play at any point.

Brown is a big-play wide receiver that led the nation in receptions over 50 yards (14). Despite his small frame, he can take the top off of defenses vertically with ease.

In 2018, Brown recorded 75 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 17.6 yards per catch.
