Rams send pick to Falcons

The Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons swung a late deal in the first round. Atlanta got the 31st pick and used it on offensive lineman Kaleb McGary. The picks involved were 45/79 to the Rams and 31/203 to the Falcons.
Giants grab third first-round pick
Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsThere was all sorts of media pressure on the Giants coming into the draft. Not that it had any influence on the Big Blue brass. Still, they traded back into the first round to make their third such selection on the night — the first time in NFL history for Big Blue to have three first-round picks. They gave up their 37th pick to the Seahawks and drafted DeAndre Baker out of Georgia.
Redskins ‘Sweat’ it out

The Washington Redskins traded with the Indianapolis Colts to get in position to select Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat. The edge rusher with incredible speed fell because there were concerns about his heart, which were cleared up as the draft approached. Still, some teams were turned off and took Sweat off their boards.
Eagles trade and go big

After Green Bay pulled its trade, the Eagles went swapping to get the next pick. They switched positions with the Ravens and gave up a fourth and sixth to grab Washington State offensive line star Andre Dillard. The Eagles jumped the Texans, who wanted Dillard and were visibly upset by Philly’s deal from their war room on the broadcasts.
Packers, Seahawks pull trade

The Green Bay Packers gave the Seattle Seahawks two fourth-round picks and their 30th slot in order to move up to the 21st pick and they drafted Maryland DB Darnell Savage.
Steelers move way up

The Pittsburgh Steelers made the first major move of the draft, trading up from 20 and grabbing the No. 10 pick from John Elway and the Denver Broncos. Mean Joe Greene (pictured) made the announcement as the Steelers drafted Michigan LB Devin Bush. The Steelers dealt their second-round pick to move up and select Bush.

Steelers extend Roethliberger

The Pittsburgh Steelers made sure Ben Roethlisberger was going to be with them for the what likely will be his entire career by signing the quarterback to a two-year extension worth $68 million that will take him through the 2021 season. “I am grateful to the Rooneys and the Steelers organization for continuing to believe in me,” Roethlisberger said in a statement. “It has always been a goal to play my entire career in Pittsburgh. This is home for me and my family, and we love this city. I am as excited to be a Steeler in year 16 as I was when they drafted me. They will get my absolute best.” Roethlisberger had a year left on a four-year, $87.6 million extension he signed in 2015.
Tucker, Ravens agree to record extension
The Baltimore Ravens have the best kicker in the league, Justin Tucker, and they rewarded him with a four-year extension is worth $20.45 million, bringing the total of the five-year deal to $23.05 million. Tucker was eligible to become a free agent after the 2019 season.

Chiefs acquire Frank Clark

The Chiefs and Seahawks got draft week started with a big deal. The Chiefs acquired Frank Clark from Seattle for their first-round draft choice, 29th overall, and the teams exchanged third-round picks. The Chiefs also sent the lower of their two 2020 second-round draft picks to the Seahawks. Clark, who had yet to sign the $17.128 million franchise tag given to him by the Seahawks, agreed to a five-year, $105.5 million deal that includes $63.5 million guaranteed.
