May 12--Two Chicago men are among the 26 contestants competing for JoJo Fletcher's heart on the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette," ABC reps announced Thursday.
Real estate consultant Coley Knust, who turns 28 in May, played football for Joliet Catholic Academy and attended Indiana University, according to online records. Staffing agency manager Peter Medina, 26, hails from Rockdale.
In his contestant survey, Knust says he can be a "party-starter but can also be considered laid-back." He said his three best attributes are honesty, loyalty and ambition and his favorite book is "The Harry Potter series. It's something that I grew up with and it got me into reading."
He said he considers himself a romantic "because fire will never stay lit forever, so you'll need sparks at opportune times."

Medina, a self-described "wing man," says his best three attributes are energy, personality and curiosity. His greatest achievement to date is "getting promoted at every job."
Fletcher, a Texas real estate developer, was chosen to be "The Bachelorette" after she was dumped by Indiana native Ben Higgins during Season 20 of "The Bachelor." Higgins took Fletcher to Wrigley Field for a date in October.
The 12th season of "The Bachelorette" is scheduled to premiere 8 p.m. May 23.
