The very first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Yellowstone prequel is finally here.

It provides a 30-second look at what the spin-off offers, with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren appearing as Jacob and Cara Dutton.

1923: A Yellowstone Origins Story is set to follow the couple and their children as they run their family farm based in Montana, while coping with the challenges of the 20th century.

The early 1900s saw a pandemic, a historic drought, the end of the Prohibition period in the United States, and the Great Depression. So, the family will have a lot on their plate, to say the least.

The teaser was revealed during Yellowstone’s Season 5 premiere on Sunday, November 13.

It showed plenty of action, with battles, rifles, and injuries. In the background, Elsa Dutton’s voice can be heard narrating: “Violence has always haunted this family and followed us from the Scottish highlands to the slums of Dublin, and it followed us here.”

The Paramount+ show is set to be another chapter of the Yellowstone storyline, following up on the popular TV show 1883, the prequel that told the story of James and Margaret Dutton. The characters were played by real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Talking about what viewers can expect from his character in 1923, Harrison Ford told Vanity Fair: “He’s the silverback. He’s responsible for that branch of the family.

“These are two people with a very strong bond to each other who are facing really complicated circumstances.

“The Duttons live by a code of behaviour that they set for themselves, and it requires complicated moral and ethical judgment,” Ford added.

“It’s not just the physical life that’s hard. The challenges that they face from modernity, the challenges to their way of life, to their freedom and the opportunities that they’ve enjoyed, is a big part of the story.”
