Sam Mendes' WW1 movie 1917 is heading into production - and has announced a star-studded cast list.
Benedict Cumberbatch , Colin Firth and Mark Strong have joined the cast along with Bodyguard's Richard Madden.
George MasKay and Game of Thrones' Dean-Charles Chapman had previously been announced and will play young British soldiers in the war drama.
The movie will follow them on a single day at the height of WW1.

1917 will also star Andrew Scott, Daniel Mays, Adrian Scarborough, Jamie Parker, Nabhaan Rizwan and Claire Duburcq.
Mendes , who will direct and wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, will also produce.
The film will begin principal photography next week, shooting on location in England and Scotland.

The creative team helping to bring the story to the screen includes cinematographer Roger Deakins; production designer Dennis Gassner; costume designer Jacqueline Durran; editor Lee Smith; and composer Thomas Newman, who has created the scores for six previous Mendes films, including Skyfall, Road to Perdition and American Beauty.
The movie marks a reunion for Dreamworks and Mendes, with his first feature American Beauty under the label, followed by Road to Perdition and Revolutionary Road.
1917 will be released in the US on December 25, 2019 .
