This is by no means an exhaustive list, but below are 18 senior discounts that can help retirees save money while traveling in 2025 and beyond.

Flights and Vacation Packages
- AARP: Members can get a $50 gift card and other discounts when booking a flight package through the AARP Travel Center
- American Airlines: There’s no mention of a senior discount on the American Airlines website, but several sources have indicated that there are special rates for seniors aged 65 and older on select flights. According to CNN, you can book your flight through AA and select “Senior (65+)” from the passenger dropdown menu. Any available senior discount should be automatically applied.
- British Airways: AARP members can save between $65 to $200 on round-trip tickets with their membership with British Airways.
- Delta: Delta offers senior discounts, but only in certain markets and none are listed online. Contact Reservations (800-221-1212) to check availability.
- United Airlines: According to United, the airline offers senior discounts on select flights. You can check if one is available by selecting “Senior (65+)” when booking your tickets. The prices will include the discount if it’s available.

Car Rentals
- AARP: Members can save up to 30% on base rates at Avis and Budget and 5% on rentals from Payless Car Rental. Free upgrades are also available, an additional driver at no extra cost and insurance benefits if booked through the AARP Center Powered by Expedia.
- AAA: While AAA doesn’t offer specific discounts for seniors, there are still several discounts and other benefits for AAA members, including seniors. AAA members can save on base rates — up to 20% on Hertz, 15% on Dollar car rentals and 10% on Thrifty — plus receive benefits like a free additional driver and child safety seat.
- Hertz 50+ Program: Travelers 50 and over can save up to 20% off base rates through the Hertz 50+ Program. If you sign up for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, there are additional premier travel perks, such as faster checkout at select locations, earning premier status the more you rent and the ability to redeem points for rental days or more.
- Thrifty: Renters aged 50 and up can save 5% on time and mileage at Thrifty.
Hotels
- AARP: AARP members can get up to 10% off select hotels when booked through the AARP Travel Center. There’s a long list of hotels, so make sure to check there first before booking travel accommodations.
- AMAC: The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is a membership-based organization similar to AARP. Members have access to exclusive hotel deals when booked directly through their partners.
- Castle Resorts & Hotels: Guests age 60 and older are eligible for the senior discount. The discounted rate is up to 10% off.
- Marriott: The Marriott Senior Discount Rate is available to guests 62 years of age and older. An AARP membership is not required. The hotel requires proof of age at check-in and there’s a limit of two rooms per night per eligible guest at the discounted rate.
Cruises
- AARP: Members can get up to $100 in onboard credit plus additional perks on select cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe and more. AARP also regularly offers additional deals on cruises, but these are only available for a limited time. Book through the AARP Travel Center to access the discounted cruise rates.
- Celebrity Cruises: Travelers 55 and over can enjoy exclusive senior savings on select staterooms and sailing through Celebrity Cruises.
- Carnival Cruise: Carnival Cruise offers senior discounts to guests 55 and over, but it’s not a fixed percentage or amount. The discount varies depending on the cruise, length of voyage and the cabin.
- MSC: When you book online through the Senior Club promo, you can save up to 10% on all cruises through MSC Cruises. To be eligible, all travelers must be 65 or older.
- Royal Caribbean: Although there’s no discount rate listed, Royal Caribbean does offer special senior prices on select sailings to guests who are 55 and older.
