17 gigs and theatre shows coming to Liverpool this autumn

There's plenty of concerts and theatre shows coming to Liverpool this autumn.

Big name artists such as Westlife, The Vamps, Rod Stewart and Aitch will be performing in the city over the coming months, with many nights of great live music to look forward to. Meanwhile, Jason Manford will be delivering a night of comedy at the M&S Bank Arena and an array of spectacular musicals will be coming to the Liverpool Empire.

Whether you are looking to catch one of your favourite artists on an arena tour, or watch a feel-good musical - there's something on offer for everyone. What's more, plenty of the shows still have tickets available - with ticket prices starting from just £17.

M&S Bank Arena

There's a packed schedule of events at the arena this autumn. Jason Manford will be bringing his comedic talents to the city on October 1, with tickets for his Like Me tour starting from £40. Sunday October 2 will see Motown legends The Four Tops and The Temptations take to the arena stage.

On October 3, physicist Professor Brian Cox will be bringing his Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey tour to the M&S Bank Arena, discussing topics including quantum theory, black holes, planetary science and astronomy. The Kaiser Chiefs will be performing on November 10 with special guests The Fratellis and The Sherlocks. Seated and standing tickets can still be found on Ticketmaster from £41.

Westlife's The Wild Dreams Tour will be taking place on November 30 - there are currently only VIP packages still available on Ticketmaster, but it's worth keeping an eye out for any resale tickets that may become available closer to the time. Rod Stewart will be performing at the arena on December 6 and The Vamps will be bringing their 10th anniversary tour to Liverpool on December 7.

Liverpool Empire

Bat Out Of Hell will be coming to Liverpool from October 4 to 15, bringing to life the legendary anthems of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. Strictly Come Dancing's Kevin Clifton and Eastenders star Maisie Smith will be starring in Strictly Ballroom: The Musical from October 17 to 22. Blood Brothers is at the Empire from October 25 to November 5.

An adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap is coming to the city from November 7 to 12. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical will be at the Empire from November 15 to 19, telling the true story of Carole King's rise to stardom. Get into the festive spirit from December 6, as White Christmas comes to the theatre until December 31 with The Wanted star Jay McGuiness amongst the cast.

O2 Academy Liverpool

There's a packed schedule of gigs at the O2 Academy over the coming months. Some shows such as Aitch and Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls are already sold out, but it's worth checking Ticketmaster for resale tickets in case you can secure one closer to the time.

The Sugababes will be bringing their reunion tour to the city on October 24. The show will feature the band's original line-up of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy and is their first headline tour in 20 years.

Scouse four-piece band Crawlers have had a whirlwind year which has seen their single Come Over (Again) go viral following its release. The band is now coming to the O2 Academy on November 10, with tickets costing £17.
