16-year-old arrested following knife-point electric bike robbery in Cramond

Police in Edinburgh have arrested a 16 year old boy following a robbery at Cramond Foreshore on Monday 8th July.

Two women were visiting Edinburgh on a cycling holiday when they were robbed of their electric bikes at knifepoint.

The ladies, aged 47 and 62, were reading the tidal timings sign near Cramond Foreshore when they were approached by two men at around 3.30pm on Monday 8th July.

One of the men presented a knife, before both bikes  were stolen .

The incident , which happened near the Cramond Causeway roundabout, left both women "extremely upset".

The teenager is due to appear next week at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday 11 July 2019.
