15 Azerbaijan journalists seek political asylum

Fourteen journalists in Azerbaijan are seeking political asylum in protest against the closure of newspapers. A 15th, the editor of Nota Bene, has requested asylum because he fears for his safety. The 14, who are protesting at the closure of two dailies - Gundelik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan - have submitted asylum requests to the US, German, British and Norwegian embassies and the office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
