1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton loses whopping 13 stone ahead of life changing surgery

Tammy Slaton has revealed she lost a whopping 13 stone (182lb) after spending months at a food rehabilitation centre.

The 1000-lb Sisters star has faced some major health challenges but has tried her best to turn her life around, undergoing gruelling physical exercises.

In a new teaser trailer for the TLC reality show, Tammy visited the doctor to see if she had managed to get down to her goal weight which would allow her to qualify for weight loss surgery.

In the clip, Tammy said: "I need to get to 550 in order for me to be approved for surgery," as she stepped onto the scales.

The nurse called out: "534.7," a massive drop from the 51 stone (717lb) she started off at.

Tammy's sister Amanda was overjoyed with her progress. She said: "Tammy, you see that?!"

Misty, another of Tammy's sisters, added: "I'm just so proud of her."

Speaking in a confessional, Tammy said: "I'm like 14 pounds under my goal weight, from over 700. That's a huge drop!"

She added: "I did that! I'm feeling thrilled. Proud. Excited. Just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong, everybody that doubted me.

"I finally got mines! My told-you-so moment!"

Amanda admitted her sister will still need to get approval from other doctors, but said she was pleased she has made it past the first hurdle.

Speaking about the weight loss surgery, Tammy said: "I'm ready to get it over with."

Tammy recently broke down in tears as she spoke about her addiction to food and alcohol.

She admitted she was "super depressed" because of her struggles, having previously been rushed to hospital after she stopped breathing at her weight loss facility.

The 36-year-old was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma last year, with her loved ones told to prepare for the worst.

Despite her body "shutting down", she survived and was even well enough to return to the food rehab centre she had been staying in.

Speaking on 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy said: "It was a hard time for me, a lot of mental health is letting go, I don’t want to go through that all again."

Tammy has since undergone therapy to try and help with her struggles and get approved for surgery.
